Artificial intelligence has officially reached what Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang calls a “spiral of success,” driving unstoppable momentum across the tech sector. Speaking at the APEC CEO Summit in South Korea, Huang explained that every breakthrough in AI model development fuels even greater financial investment, which in turn accelerates progress in the field.

According to Huang, this self-reinforcing loop has created a powerful closed cycle of growth. “AI is getting better, more people are using it, and companies are earning higher profits,” he said. “That profit leads to larger factories, more infrastructure, and even more powerful technology. This is why global capital spending is expanding so rapidly.”

Billions of dollars are now flowing into the AI infrastructure ecosystem. In October, Crusoe Energy raised $1.375 billion to support AI development for OpenAI. Meanwhile, an investor group including BlackRock, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Elon Musk’s xAI reached a $40 billion deal to acquire Aligned, a company that operates massive cloud campuses with over 5 gigawatts of computing capacity.

Tech giants Meta, Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft are also expected to collectively invest over $300 billion by 2025 in new AI data centers and computing technologies. Analysts predict this aggressive spending trend will continue into 2026, as companies race to expand their computing power and gain an edge in the AI arms race.

Huang emphasized that profitability lies at the core of this unprecedented boom. “When something becomes profitable, you naturally want to produce more of it,” he remarked.

A New Era of Computing

Huang believes we are witnessing the dawn of a new computing era, where every layer of infrastructure—from chips to software—is undergoing fundamental transformation. “We are at the beginning of a decade-long evolution,” he noted. Unlike traditional software that runs on CPUs, modern AI workloads rely on GPUs, marking a dramatic architectural shift.

“The entire software stack—energy requirements, chips, system software, AI models, and applications—will be fundamentally redesigned,” Huang said, predicting massive disruption in both enterprise and consumer technologies.

Strategic Partnerships and South Korea’s AI Expansion

Huang’s visit to South Korea, his first in 15 years, highlights Nvidia’s deepening ties with major Korean conglomerates including Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK Group, and Naver. The South Korean government announced plans to purchase over 260,000 Nvidia GPUs to support its national AI development strategy. Around 50,000 GPUs will be dedicated to government-led initiatives such as building domestic AI models and a national data center, while the remaining 200,000 units will be allocated to private companies.

Samsung revealed plans to construct a mega-scale AI factory in collaboration with Nvidia, integrating AI into every stage of semiconductor, mobile, and robotics production. The facility will create an intelligent manufacturing network capable of analyzing, predicting, and optimizing operations in real time.

Hyundai and Nvidia are joining forces to develop AI infrastructure for autonomous mobility, smart factories, and robotics, while SK Group aims to build Asia’s first dedicated AI cloud platform.
