In a forward-looking initiative dubbed Concept T, Deutsche Telekom has introduced an array of AI-driven devices at MWC 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, showcasing how future human lives could be intricately linked with artificial intelligence. Concept T explores the integration of several AI technologies, including the potential of holographic telephony, as highlighted by Deutsche Telekom’s press service.
The Essence of Concept T
Concept T aims to advance human-technology interaction by enabling control through natural voice and gestures, made possible by intelligent AI. Claudia Nemat, Board Member for Technology and Innovation at Deutsche Telekom, emphasized the project’s focus on enhancing the user experience with technology.
Inside Concept T: A Glimpse into the Future
- Smart Assistant Emma: Emma, a smart assistant, can manage smart home systems, respond to user queries with internet-sourced information, conduct online shopping, and offer advice on various topics. Emma also integrates Web 3 applications, manages digital wallets, family member digital IDs, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs, all housed in a spherical device with a display for holographic avatar interaction.
- Router Concept Level: This innovative router can be equipped with a conical module for Wi-Fi configuration and room monitoring. It features an AI voice assistant and an interactive display for smart home management. The Web 3 module acts as a digital wallet for cryptocurrencies or a secure NFT storage, generating “purple tokens” for updates or other uses. An additional cylindrical component monitors the owner’s heart rate, alerting family or doctors in emergencies.
- Robot Assistant Concept Buddy: Concept Buddy ensures optimal Wi-Fi coverage throughout the home, monitors air quality, reminds to water plants or vacuum, and can manage smart home functions. It can project images onto walls and, being mobile, moves freely around the house on wheels. Concept Buddy’s digital smile and gesture and voice control options add a friendly touch.
The Future of Concept T
Deutsche Telekom clarifies that the Concept T devices are currently in the conceptual phase, with no confirmed production or release dates. However, the company suggests that specific features could be implemented in various products, hinting at a future where AI enriches every aspect of home living.
